I am a freelance writer/editor with YEARS of experience. I've written in such categories as --

  • technical writing
  • books (fiction & non)

  • short stories
  • attention grabbing copy
  • website text
  • PR materials (press releases, brochures, etc.)

I have also been a graphic designer and a freelance photographer. A one-person dynamo!

I accept freelance jobs and work from home (unless you're in the greater Los Angeles area, in which case, I could work onsite.) I am available for a permanent job.

While I am a very gifted and prolific writer, I LOVE editing, and can promise fast turn around time. I have some writing samples (of various kinds) to offer. I've created several newsletters for a variety of companies and organizations. I work very fast and those I've worked for/with offer glowing references.

Here is my writer's bio. All works have been copyrighted, and my scripts are registered with the WGA.  I also have a technical writing resume (available upon request), a graphics resume, and various resumes of other kinds (PR, real estate, event planning, admin, etc.).

Hope Cameron has been writing since the age of five, when she began composing short stories for her own amusement. In her Detroit grammar school, she adapted one of her mother's children's stories into a play, which she cast, directed and produced! She acted as publisher, editor and illustrator of her high school literary magazine.

Hope wrote her first fiction novel -a romance -in 1986, THE MASTER OF LARKHALL RISE. It was followed by two more romances, several children's books and a book for the teenaged market.

Hope had an acting career (for 14 years), which gave her the knowledge and motivation to write her first non-fiction book, HOW TO AVOID/HANDLE/ LITIGATE OVER SEXUAL HARASSMENT. (It can currently be found at: http://www.booklocker.com/books/4397.html.) She was hired to teach seminars (in Los Angeles) based on the information in the book. She went on to create a newsletter and generated magazine/newspaper articles on the theme.

She decided to pursue a professional writing career in 1994. Her first published work, a few months later, was an article in one of Penthouse Magazine's periodicals. She went on to have newsletter articles printed and a few of her poems have been seen in anthologies.

In 1995, Hope wrote and submitted two spec scripts for a late night television show. Although the show was cancelled before a sale could be made, the script bug had bitten! She went on to write six (feature/MOW) scripts within a year, secure a literary agent and move from Los Angeles to the countryside, where she wrote several more scripts. A fast, prolific writer!

The head of a prestigious screenwriting department at one of the state universities in California said, of her first script, "I couldn't put it down!" Most recently, her family (Christmas) script was chosen to be the first one read in a collaborative showcase started by Women In Film, and was just optioned.

 To date she has written:

  • ten scripts (MOW & feature, live action, animated series & episodic specs)
  • three romance novels
  • a suspense novel
  • an esoteric non-fiction book
  • a non-fiction ebook currently published on Booklocker.com
  • several children's books
  • at least a dozen short stories
  • more than 500 poems
  • magazine & newsletter articles
  • two books of young adult fiction and
  • several websites to her credit.

Her newspaper articles have been seen in:

   The Women's Times

   The Pasadena Weekly

   The Tolucan Times and

a column in the La Canada Outlook.

She has also written (interview) articles for the website Knowledge Universe and taught writing seminars (How to Write a Love Poem and How to Break Through Writer's Block), for Los Angeles seminar schools. Since 2000, she has made a living working as a technical writer/editor/desktop publisher.

…and this is only the beginning! :o)
